Connection at Coco Key Danvers MA

My family and I connected at Coco Key at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore in Danvers MA.

I had forgotten how much connection a weekend away offers.  There is something about being away from home that allows us to focus more deeply on each other.

Last weekend was one of those weekends for my family.  We were invited to check out a recently re-done hotel.  The property itself is located outside of Boston and nothing surrounds it.  Kris and I wondered if spending a full weekend at the Doubletree by Hilton Boston North Hotel in Danvers would be too much.

Our worries were unfounded.  Extremely.

This is a self contained property.  Not only is there a full service hotel with space to run, massive fireplace and restaurants, there is a 65, 000 square foot water park attached!  Complete with video arcade, snack bars, and movie theatre.

This place is geared for families and allowed Kris and I to forget about how to get our kids’ needs met, and just have fun with them.  We spent the days at the water park or chilling out in our (large and perfectly laid out suite-style) room, and the nights having dinner and playing video arcades.

Our shoulders relaxed with each ride down the slide and we inhaled the extra snuggles from our kids as we sat in front of the fire.  This hotel fit our lifestyle- we could eat when we were hungry (sometimes this meant room service at 10pm!), sleep when we were tired (In our plush, quiet, dark room), and play whenever we felt like it (most of the time).

The attention to cleanliness and maintenance allowed us to  fully enjoy the place.  The paint was fresh (even in the water park!), the rooms were well appointed, and we did not find so much as a light bulb that was too dim.

When we needed something the staff was there to help, whether it was extra cherries for an ice cream sundae, or an explanation of how the slides made it outside and came back in, our questions were answered thoroughly and with kindness.

Sometimes a weekend away is the answer to a question we did not know we had.

If you are looking for something to do in the Boston area that will reacquaint your family, check out the Doubletree Hotel, Danvers, and Coco Keys Water Park.  Take some time to appreciate each other, while somebody else worries about meeting your needs.

I was compensated by Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore to review their facility in the form of a complimentary weekend.  The opinions are genuine and all mine!
