Here we are, week 3 of 30 Days of Workouts for Women and Men with Kids! You might be getting tired of being inside, so here are some suggestions for how to get outside!
1. Go for a walk. Not a sightseeing walk, or to explore, but to seriously move your body. Use these tips for exercising with kids to prepare kids for 30 minutes in a jogger. Pick the right time, get your clothes on, and MOVE! Depending on your fitness level, you may even be able to run. The key for me is not doing this too often! It’s not fair for me to expect my kids to sit in a stroller every day if they do not want to!
2.. Backyard Workout. It is all fun and games with this workout- plus, you will sweat like crazy and play with your kids the whole time. Click here to check it out.
3. Swim! Pair up with a friend and make a pool date. Take turns swimming for exercise- one can swim while the other watches the kids outside of the pool. Pay a neighborhood kid a few bucks to be an extra set of eyes. Once you are all in the pool, MOVE with your children, motor boat them around for an arm workout, don’t stand still, kick your legs under the water, use your child floating in the inner tube as a kick board; push them around the pool while you kick your legs and you can connect with them while getting your exercise!
Most importantly, exercise BEFORE you enjoy a day at the pool- do it right away. Otherwise, you might leave with a sunburn instead of a workout!
