A friend recently asked on her Facebook wall: “What do you do for fun? My kids shouldn’t be the only ones having fun all the time!” And it got me thinking. What makes me feel honest-to-goodness giddy? Like when I was 8 riding my blue angel 2 wheeler with blue and white streamers flailing in the breeze.
After some soul searching I realized that my answer is creating. It does not matter so much what it is; a meal, an essay, or paper mache with the kids, when I am creating I have the very same feelings as when I took my hands off the handle bars and coasted all alone down the street.
So I have started trying to find some stuff that will encourage me to do more and different types of creating. This is part of that “stuff”. A six week photo challenge hosted by a fellow blogger. Each friday I will submit some photographs reflecting a specific topic. This week it is “Sunshine and Light”. How can you not love that?!
These photographs are of a bush in my backyard. On wednesday morning I looked out my door and saw the way the light was hitting it. Part of the bush was shaded and part was lit brightly by the sun. I grabbed my camera not realizing it would create today’s submission. Owen was right beside me with his own camera. Climbing up on chairs and standing up on trees to get his shot. We had so much fun.
Here are this weeks photos:

I couldn’t agree more. I’m most happy when I’m creating as well. Beautifully said. And great job creating something beautiful from your yellow bush!
Beautiful forsythia blooms!
Love the contrast of the colors! Yellow and blue look good together!

I really know nothing about gardening/plants/bushes, only that this one is beautiful and that I was struck by how the sun illuminated it. Thank you for visiting
Beautiful, I love the way the petals glow when they’re backlit like that! And you’re right about creating… that is what I enjoy to do most
