Sunday Prayers For Trayvon Martin

Today I pray for Trayvon Martin and his family.

While we are assured Trayvon is in Heaven, I pray for his mother Sybrina, and his father Tracy.

I pray that somehow they feel our love and know that our hearts are filled with sorrow.

I keep in my prayers his little brother, who no longer has the gift of his big brother.

I keep in my prayers his mother, whose heart will never again be whole.

I keep in my prayers his father, whose focus will never again be clear.

I keep in my prayers his family, who will never again be complete while on earth.

I remember the void that is left and that the world will now be different and lacking because of Trayvon’s death.

I pray that his parents somehow find comfort, because no parent should have to hear their child begging for his life.

I pray that their neighbors and our nation embrace and surround Trayvon’s family with love, compassion and support.  For this I pray hardest of all.

And for all of these things, I pray to God.
