I love participating in Simple Things Sunday because it reminds me to pay attention during the week; to appreciate ordinary moments. Most of these moments will not be recalled even when they are photographed. Somehow though, if I inhale them as they happen, they become a part of me and will always be with me.
Simple moments like Sydney running excitedly to show me that the ball fits perfectly inside the bucket.
And the smile that Owen shares from the pure enjoyment of playing frisbee with his dad.
Even Sydney’s first pout, because though I do not want her to feel sadness or frustration,I cannot help but find her new found crossing of arms precious.
These simple and ordinary moments are the very ones that our memories are made of, and I am grateful for the reminder to keep them with me.

Those pouty arms are precious. I love that picture. It’s hard not to smile!
Brandi,
I agree! I always have to consciously override a chuckle of affection when Sydney does this. Lately she has added “it’s not fair”- which makes it more irresistible!
Your words are so true and your photos are precious!!
