Sometimes we need a reminder that our work is important and is being seen by somebody. This is for mothers.
For the Mother of My Children:
It is hard, I know. You never imagined how very much you would sacrifice and all that would change when you became a mother. You never imagined the deepness of the gratitude that you would feel.
When things flow smoothly, it is happy and easy and you cannot imagine any other way of spending your days.
When things are difficult and your two year old is indecisive and your 4 year old is sick and you are alone with your children, it becomes more challenging.
So today I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge how much I appreciate you and how important your work is.
I want you to remember that I am with you when it is taking all that you have to remain patient with your child, or when you are sure you have reached the end of your rope with your husband’s work schedule.
Know that my hand is on your shoulder while you sit in the bathroom and cry with guilt from yelling at your children earlier in the day. As you pray for more patience the next day, I am giving it to you.
When you are sure that you are doing this all alone, and that no mother has ever been so isolated, lonely or frustrated, it is my arms that envelope and calm you.
Know that I am your partner when yours has left. Though I may not be able to assist you the way he could, I provide you with strength and love. You are not alone. I remind you of this with your family and friends, and strangers on the street- those who offer you assistance with your groceries, or pick up your child’s favorite stuffed animal when you did not even realize he had dropped it.
I want you to know that even if nobody else acknowledges these things, I see them every day. Therefore they matter. Thank you for taking care of my children. They are my most precious creations, and because you care for them so are you.
You are a glorious mother. All of your efforts are worthwhile, important and noted. The next time you wonder if this is true, just ask me to remind you. And I will.
Happy Mothers Day today and every day my precious daughter.
Love
God
