I received an e -mail over the weekend from a reader who is facing some “resistance” to continuing to nurse her older-than-1-year child. Though she is continuing to breastfeed because she knows it is best, she asked for some resources to help her feel less lonely.
What a great request.
Here is a list of 11 resources that I gain strength from. Some are websites, some are blogs, some are facebook pages where hundreds (and even thousands!) of Mamas (and dads too) come together to talk about practical solutions to challenges they are facing that are out of the mainstream.
You will not find any advice on letting your child “cry it out” here, instead you will find support on how to catch some Z’s after being an all night diner.
Nor will you find suggestions on how to get your child to sleep through the night alone, instead you will find suggestions on how to make bedsharing easier and safe.
If you are a Attachment Parent, I know you will find these resources powerful. I am amazed by the mothers who started and run them. These women are changing the world.
And a bonus:
Check out the websites, blogs, forums and discussions. Also visit each groups Facebook page. This is where I find a lot of quick answers and support.
There are many more wonderful resources and at some point I will probably list another round of them. For now, enjoy cozying up with some like -minded mamas, or being exposed to a different way of doing things.
What are your go-to resources?

These are wonderful resources! I couldn’t do without them either.
Thanks for linking up at the Green & Natural Mamas Linky!
Thanks for linking up to the blog hop this week! I would love for Natural Parenting Group to be on there, in addition to our blog hops we have an attachment parenting forum.
Hi Jacqui,
I just added your site. I found you guys after this post was already scheduled. I am inspired and have a renewed sense of strength after seeing how many other parents are making choices more similar to mine.
Thanks so much for the blog hop and the wonderful work that you do!
